We are seeking to appoint enthusiastic, motivated and innovative people to join the Road Safety Team. This dedicated team provides road safety education, training and awareness throughout Derbyshire.

The County Council is also part of the Derby and Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership and together our aim is to reduce the number of road traffic casualties. Each of the people we are looking for will be an effective and confident communicator with good interpersonal and organisational skills, capable of working on their own and as part of a team. Knowledge of road safety education, training and publicity is required, particularly in relation to current issues and developments.

The postholder will also be expected to work closely with local and regional casualty reduction partnerships. Due to the nature of the post they may sometimes be required to work outside normal office hours. The postholder must also have transport readily available. Current duties will include working with schools and the wider community. This is particularly to progress road safety education in schools and other organisations, which includes working with adults.

The work will also involve the organisation and running of education/training programmes, developing campaigns, and attending events to promote road safety awareness to a variety of road user groups.
