Based at Ashford Highway Depot Every year 900 people in Kent suffer life-changing and life-ending injuries on our roads.

Have you got the motivation and commitment to help us reduce the number of these tragic events?

It’s the way road users act that places them and others at most risk, so do you have what it takes to help change people’s behaviour? We are recruiting a Road Safety Officer who will have responsibility for developing and delivering education, training and publicity activities aimed at helping young people to be safer on the roads. The focus will be on primary school aged children but you would be expected to help the team in delivering interventions across the full range of road user groups and ages from time to time.

If you have experience in teaching young people and developing educational programmes and can demonstrate the importance to you of reducing personal injury crashes, we want to hear from you. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification. This post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
