Mercedes-Benz instructor trainer to speak at Young Driver Focus 2016
The latest confirmed presentation for Young Driver Focus 2016 will comprise a review of driving instructor training from around the world.
The presentation will be delivered by Mark Born who will share his international experiences as a central instructor trainer at the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy.
In his presentation Mark will share his experience of curriculum and driving instructor training from the around the world and discuss how we could learn from the best practice of others and create stronger partnerships between driving instructors and other road safety professionals.
In his role at the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy, Mark is responsible for the training and quality assurance of driving instructors around the world, from here in the UK to North America and China.
After qualifying as an approved driving instructor in 2005, Mark first operated an independent driving school before joining Mercedes-Benz in 2011, where he now works as part of a team dedicated to reducing young novice driver collisions.
Prior to 2005, Mark studied hospitably management and spent his initial career working within the sector before moving into further education and working with young adults as they set out on their careers. The move into teaching young drivers how to drive was influenced by wanting to ensure everyone had the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
