New magazine puts spotlight on driver training industry

Monday 14th December 2015

A new monthly magazine, described as the only independent magazine for the driver training industry, was launched last week.

Backed by the FirstCar publishing team, Intelligent Instructor covers all parties, organisations, views and information across the driver training industry.

As well as the latest news and discussions, the new magazine will use expert contributors to provide in-depth articles designed to help readers improve their training skills and understanding of their clients’ needs, as well as detailed information to help trainers run a more efficient and profitable business.

Further features will discuss topical issues associated with teaching people to drive, from the latest research in road safety and training techniques, through to cars and product reviews.

The magazine claims to be the most comprehensive guide to driver training and road safety, “written by the people in the know, for those that need to know”. The 64-page A5 magazine will be delivered directly to 15,000 ADIs throughout the UK.

Paul Caddick, the magazine’s editor, said: “Intelligent Instructor is an essential tool for any driver trainer. As well as informing and educating the reader, we are also about celebrating the massive contribution that ADIs make to road safety.

“Around 90% of practical road safety training is provided by the humble driving instructor, and it is time that this was better recognised by society. At the same time, we want to make sure that this industry continues to develop and deliver to the highest professional standards, what is an essential service to the country.”

James Evans, founder of the FirstCar, commented: “We are delighted to be launching Intelligent Instructor which will be bring a fresh publishing approach for the driver trainer industry.

“FirstCar already publishes more than two million new driver magazines annually, so it’s a natural progression to linkup with Paul and his experienced team to launch Intelligent Instructor targeting driving instructors, who have a very close bond with the learner driver.’’

I have not been enamoured of all the content of previous publications by First Car so am waiting with bated breath to see what transpires with this one. A magazine put over entirely for safety apart from adverts and aimed at the professional instructor is something to be admired.
