Academy under the spotlight in latest RSGB Talk podcast

10.35 | 14 January 2019 | |

In the second Road Safety News podcast, Nick Rawlings and Sam Merison discuss what the future holds for the Road Safety GB Academy and its membership.

Launched in December 2018, RSGB Talk will be published monthly on Road Safety News during 2019.

In each edition, Nick Rawlings, editor of Road Safety News, will be joined by a guest to discuss a different road safety topic.

In the latest edition, published on 14 January, Nick is joined by Sam Merison, director of the Road Safety GB Academy.

Established in 2013, The Academy is the professional development arm of Road Safety GB. The Academy helps road safety practitioners enhance their skills in order to deliver effective, evidence-led road safety interventions.

The pair discuss Sam’s interesting route into road safety – via the world of professional football – and how his enthusiasm for, and interest in, professional development for the road safety community led him to his current post as head of the Academy.

Sam provides an overview of the courses available for road safety practitioners through the Academy – before discussing what lays in store for the training body in the coming months and years.
