Good Egg guides going digital

Good Egg Safety has announced that its award-winning road safety publications are to be made available as digital ‘flip books’ in a move to increase the number of families and road users that can be reached.

There are six Good Egg Guides covering in-car safety, young drivers and their parents, older road users, ‘family cycling’ and PTW riders.

The new digital flip books will enable users to click a link and view any of the guides on their computer, tablet or smartphone, flipping page by page ‘as if they had a guide in the palm of their hand’.

Users can be tracked as they visit the landing page and from there to see which guides they are reading.

Jan James, Good Egg CEO, said: “We get so much positive feedback from the 165 plus local authorities who currently buy our Good Egg publications, that we decided to increase access via digital for the first time.

“This enables existing partners to provide this content-rich information to many more of their residents. Plus, other local authorities who can’t afford the printed guides can now access these digitally instead, from as little as £34 per week per guide, with unlimited users per licence, making it extremely cost-effective.”

Available via a yearly licence, Good Egg offers individual guide access codes or a group access code to all of the guides. The code can be distributed via email, online or in person and the guides can be updated in real time to reflect any important legislative changes or events as they happen.

Honor Byford, chair of Road Safety GB, said: “The Good Egg brand is well known as a source of no-nonsense clear information and advice.

"Moving into digital media where people can access this information when they need it in a user friendly format is a great step forward and will make the information more widely available to many more people.”

Liz Brooker MBE, who uses the Good Egg Guides in her capacity as road safety & sustainable transport manager at Lewisham Council, said: “The digital version of these Good Egg guides is a wonderful way of getting road safety information to a far wider audience.

“Adding it to our council website, our council magazine and sending the links to the relevant guides to the local hospital, schools, driving instructors, to name a few, will significantly improve the numbers we can reach compared with the printed versions.

“Storage and time to send parcels is all so limited – this is a sustainable way of imparting great and valuable information.

“Best of all I can monitor the number reached. The link to the guides will be sent via RSGB Connect to our email contacts. A super way of supporting Road Safety Week – and ensuring the information is never out of date.”
