Medway highlights child safety week message

10.14 | 26 June 2009 |

Medway’s road safety team is using National Child Safety Week (22-28 June) to urge parents and carers to keep the car tidy and equipped with the appropriate child car seat restraint.

Su Negus, principal RSO, said: “Often parents are unsure of what child seat restraint their child should be using, or they struggle to keep them in it. I know how difficult this can be and can only advise using the key attributes of being a parent – patience and perseverance. Perhaps try and let your child personalise the restraint or even pick it out in the shop.

“It is also important to keep the car free from choking hazards in reach of little ones grasp so you can concentrate on driving safely with minimal distraction.”
