The next three ‘client centred learning’ (CCL) courses for ADIs will be held in Northallerton in North Yorkshire (29-30 April), Nottingham (11-12 May) and Spennymoor in County Durham (15-16 June).
The two-day course has been specifically designed to help ADIs develop client-centred learning skills in line with the DVSA National Driver/Rider Training Standards.
Focusing on the three higher competencies – Lesson Planning, Risk Management and Teaching & Learning Strategies – the course helps ADIs develop an understanding of the Standards Check while also focusing on improving everyday teaching skills. The course has been developed by Road Safety GB in partnership with Ian Edwards MSc, director of e-Driving Solutions.
The Northallerton course on 29-30 April will be the fourth to be delivered by North Yorkshire’s road safety team.
The Nottingham course (11-12 May) will be delivered by Nottingham City Council’s road safety team, and facilitated by team member Neil Snow in partnership with special guest Louise Walsh from driving-instructor.tv and the Big Learner Relay.
The Spennymoor course will be delivered by Durham County Council’s road safety team and facilitated by Tony Flory, Durham’s driver training services officer.
The course fee of £140 includes refreshments and a light lunch and one year membership of the Road Safety GB Academy. It is open to driving instructors from across the UK.
