The 2017 Data Analysts’ Conference continues to take shape, with a number of speakers added to the agenda and Jenoptik Traffic Solutions* named as a sponsor of the event.

Organised by Road Safety GB in partnership with Road Safety Analysis, the conference, now in its second year, will take place at the IET in Birmingham on 2 March.

The conference theme for 2017 is once again ‘Joining the Dots’. The programme covers a wide range of topics and includes workshop sessions in the afternoon.

Speakers recently added to the agenda include Alice Crossley, Highways England, who will deliver the opening keynote address.

Jane Robinson from Atkins will also feature in the first session, ‘Data Drives Understanding’. Her presentation will look at measuring the impact of 20mph, and using alternative data sources to measure changes in speeds and public perceptions.

In the closing session, ‘Statistically Significant Expectations’, Will Cubbin from Essex County Council will team up with Dr Daryl Lloyd from the DfT to co-present ‘Crash & Moan’; Will Cubbin’s contribution will provide a local perspective to the work being carried out by the DfT.

In another joint presentation in the same session, Andrew Hartley from Road Safety Analysis and Marie Woltman from Devon County Council will provide a practical demonstration of ‘dashboarding and data visualisation’.
