Road Safety GB will produce a series of ‘how to’ guides and facilitate ‘ask the experts sessions’ in support of Global Road Safety Week 2015.
The third UN Global Road Safety Week (4-10 May 2015) will focus on children, using the strapline ‘Save kids’ lives’. The Week will be used to draw attention to the “urgent need to better protect children and generate action on the measures needed to do so”. It will also give added impetus to the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 and its goal of saving five million lives.
Having announced its intention to support the week earlier this year, Road Safety GB has now published more details of its plans to do so.
The ‘how to’ guides it will produce will provide step by step advice on how to set up and implement low or no cost child-centred initiatives on a range of topics including walking, cycling and children in cars. The guides will be published on the Road Safety GB website during Global Road Safety Week and made freely available to all.
Throughout the week, Road Safety GB’s child road safety experts will also be available for consultation via a series of seminars/workshops/Q&A sessions, again delivered through its website.
