23 organisations are in contention to pick up an award at the inaugural FirstCar Young Driver Road Safety Awards, sponsored by ingenie, which will be presented in London next month.

FirstCar launched this new awards scheme to recognise the work of road safety professionals in seeking to reduce casualties among young drivers. The inaugural awards will be presented at the Young Driver Focus 2015 event at the RAC Club in Pall Mall on 15 April.

More than 50 entries were received for the three award categories, and the judging panel spent many hours analysing the entries and undertaking the difficult task of producing a shortlist.

James Evans, FirstCar founder, said: “The standard of entries in this, the first year of these awards, is phenomenal and underlines how much hard work is being undertaken right across the country.

“A special thanks to all those who took the time and effort to enter, and many congratulations to those who made it on to the shortlist – competition was fierce.

“We are delighted that these awards have been so well supported, and pleased to be able in some small way to reward those whose efforts often go unnoticed.”
