The thing to be seen in on Merseyside

Schools in Knowsley on Merseyside are the first in the country to be using Reflazer Blazers.

Liverpool-based Reflazer was voted best business idea for 2008 by listeners of Liverpool’s Radio City.

The company’s blazers have a uniquely patented design that makes them virtually indistinguishable from other blazers under normal light. However when the Reflezer Blazer is hit by the lights of a car its reflective trims offer the driver an early warning that could save lives in the dark winter months.

In partnership with Graham Winterbottom Schoolwear, Reflazer has provided blazers to over half the schools in Knowlsey for the current academic year.

Brian Dunn, Reflazer spokesperson, said: “We have been contacted by the other schools in Knowsley about providing their uniform for 2010 after they saw how parents, teachers and pupils praised the idea. We also have orders for other areas of the country for 2010.
“In our local area our blazers have been endorsed by Liverpool City Council, Knowsley MBC and Merseytravel.”
