The European Traffic Police Network (TISPOL) has announced details of its 2014 conference which will be held in Manchester on 30 September and 1 October.

The theme is ‘Road Safety in Europe – Achieving 2020 Target’ and the speaker line-up includes top-level representatives of the European Commission, Euro Contrôle Route and ACPO, alongside academics from across Europe.

The conference will include sessions on post crash response, fitness to drive, driver distraction, and advances in safety.

Pasi Kemppainen, TISPOL director, said: “As ever, we intend this year’s programme to be as practical and useful as possible, by showcasing examples of good practice and how they have successfully been adapted to work elsewhere.

“Our line-up of speakers and the TISPOL representatives from across Europe are committed to sharing their success stories and ensuring the conference outputs are both practical and useful.”
