Nominations are being sought for the 2017 Road Safety Wales annual awards, which will be presented at the organisation’s annual conference on 21 June.

The awards’ scheme seeks to recognise individuals, groups and organisations that have made a ‘real commitment to road safety, above and beyond what would normally be expected of them’.

The recipients do not necessarily have to be road safety professionals, but will be ‘undertaking road safety professionally’.

Nominations can include examples of ‘good road safety practice’, ‘innovative projects’ or ‘personal contributions’ being undertaken in communities across Wales.

Last year’s winners included South Hook LNG Terminal Company Limited, for its work supporting the Crucial Crew event, while Coleg Sir Gâr, a further education college with five campuses in South Wales, was recognised for promoting road safety through the Carmarthenshire Young Driver Programme (pictured).

Other winners included: Age Connects Morgannwg and South Wales Police PCSOs, publicans Jennie and Digby Rees and long serving school crossing patrol Daisy Lambe.

The nomination form can be downloaded from the Road Safety Wales’ website and should be submitted (accompanied by any relevant supporting material) by Friday 26 May.

The winners will be invited to receive their award at the RSW Conference on 21 June at the Metropole Hotel, Llandrindod Wells. Award winners will receive £100 and a souvenir gift.
