Good Egg Safety has proactively campaigned to improve in-car child safety for the last fourteen years. Our aim is simple; to reduce the number of children who are killed or seriously injured on UK roads. We work in partnership with TRL, RSGB, RoadSafe, Government, Road Safety organizations, and many Local Authorities.
Our Good Egg Safety experts have checked more than 23,500 child car seats and sadly we have seen an alarming growth in incorrect fitment / incompatibility in the last five year period.
This year alone, our experts have found that 71% of child car seats across the UK are still not fitted or used correctly. So seven in ten babies and children are currently at risk of injury or worse.
Earlier this year our undercover researchers tested over 80 retail outlets. The subsequent Watchdog investigation, which was prompted by this research, found only 1 store in 50 actually gave the right advice.
They tested some of the recommendations retail staff gave parents at TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) with some alarming potential consequences.
To help make the difference, we are delighted to profile the new TRL CPD accredited Advanced Training Programme for retailers and road safety professionals, which is delivered in partnership with Good Egg Safety.
