Carly Brookfield, CEO, Driving Instructors’ Association (DIA)
Carly Brookfield is a passionate advocate of the importance of professional driver training in delivering safer new drivers, as well as developing the skills of existing licence holders and road users.
Responsible for the day to day management and strategic development of the DIA Group, Carly directs a portfolio of organisations focused on developing driving standards, and standards of driver training, in the UK and internationally. Within this dynamic group is the Driving Instructors Association itself, the UK's largest membership organisation for professional driver and rider trainers, representing more than 11,500 trainers operating across all fleet, learner and advanced driver education.
The group also includes DIAmond Advanced Motorists - the UK's only advanced driving assessments and training courses wholly taught and delivered by professional driver trainers, and considered to be the leading standard of civilian driving assessment. DIAmond is also a well known and internationally respected fleet training, testing and accreditation body, working with driving schools and individual trainers across the world, as well as government bodies, employers and road safety organisations.
Carly is a member of the Department for Transport's Road Safety Delivery Group and a board member of the Road Safety Observatory.
