Meet Hugger – the face of Norfolk’s latest motorcyle campaign

The Think! Norfolk partnership has launched a new four-month motorbike safety campaign spearheaded by Hugger, a cartoon style chacter.

Hugger is named after a rear mudguard, and the aim of the campaign is to ensure he becomes instantly recognisable to the public who will associate him with motorbike road safety.

The campaign will be supported by a marketing campaign that includes prominent advertising across Norfolk’s buses, newspapers and radio stations as well as the distribution of posters and stickers.

To begin with, the message will be directed at motorists as more motorcyclists take to Norfolk’s roads during the summer months.

Later in the campaign, there will be specific messages for motorcyclists encouraging them to consider additional training to improve their skills and ultimately, their experience on the roads.

Guy McCurley, chairman of Think Norfolk’s publicity group, said: “This latest life-saving initiative follows on from the success of last year’s motorcycle road safety campaign.

“Statistics show there has been a reduction in the number of casualties involving motorbikes in Norfolk last year, which goes some way to illustrating the effectiveness of our previous motorbike road safety campaigns. We’re fully committed to trying to reduce this figure even further.”

The campaign will also involve enforcement by Norfolk Constabulary and Norfolk Safety Camera Partnership.

There appears to me to be a lot of training out there and a lot of people who would take it.

Motorcycling safety costs and if they want to save their life they have to pay.

Wonder what resonse u got. Hope it was worth it. But in times of reccession who but the rich can afford it.
