We serve a population of 1.2 million living in cities, towns and rural villages with a diverse geography and demographic providing a wide variety of road safety challenges.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference and to develop your career, and a wide range of training and development opportunities will be provided.

The Road Safety Officer will be based within the Road Safety Engagement & Education Team, developing and delivering campaigns and education initiatives to prevent road casualties. The county is a key region linking industry and innovation to strong local heritage, an area of outstanding beauty and popular coastal areas. The large cities of Manchester and Liverpool and the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks are on our doorstep.

Staff wellbeing and work-life balance are important to us and these are just some of the benefits you can enjoy working for Lancashire County Council:

– Flexible working
– A minimum of 25 days annual leave
– Local Government Pension Scheme with generous employer contribution
– A generous reimbursement package to relocate to Lancashire
– Staff discount scheme for a range of retailers, holidays, insurance, eating out, health and leisure

You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use. However, we may consider an exemption to this requirement if you are unable to drive due to a disability.
