Drawing on the evidence of the Bikeability programme, and sharing early insights from new research into Special Education Needs and Disabilities pilot work.<\/p>\n<p>With the rise in micromobility engaging a new cohort of cyclists this session will look at the role of training in developing competent and confident cyclists to help choose active travel.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Emily Cherry, Executive Director, The Bikeability Trust<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-134 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/roadsafetygb.org.uk\/cyclingevent\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Emily-Cherry-pod-300x175.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"175\" srcset=\"https:\/\/roadsafetygb.org.uk\/cyclingevent\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Emily-Cherry-pod-300x175.jpg 300w, https:\/\/roadsafetygb.org.uk\/cyclingevent\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/Emily-Cherry-pod.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Emily Cherry has over 20 year\u2019s experience working in children\u2019s charities and was appointed Executive Director of The Bikeability Trust in June 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to this she spent two years running a consultancy taking on challenging projects to build efficiency, change and increase effectiveness.<\/p>\n<p>Emily has provided commentary on many issues and policy initiatives and has been a significant contributor to news shows, appearing regularly on major TV channels.<\/p>\n<p>Emily lives in a small village near Cambridge, is married to a primary school teacher and has two children.
