Toddlers at two children’s centres in Medway received a surprise visit from the road safety character, Belisha Beacon, as part of a road safety lesson for 1-3 year olds.

As well as a visit from Medway’s officlal road safety mascot, activities on the day at the Brompton Childrens Centres included road safety themed songs, games and stories.

New mums were also given tips about keeping their children safe and secure in car seats.

Pauline Craddock, co-ordinator at Deanwood Children’s Centre, said: “Our mums found the session very informative and a great chance to ask questions face to face with a road safety professional, and fellow parents, about common car seat concerns and issues.”

The visits coincided with National Road Safety Week which is coordinated annually by the charity Brake.
