Annual tyre campaign will focus on winter driving

15.32 | 12 September 2011 |

Following two years of extreme winter weather, the focus this year for tyre safety month (October 2011) is on winter driving.

According to TyreSafe, organisers of Tyre Safety Month, wet roads, cold temperatures, snow and ice all contribute to create dangerous road conditions, making it critical that tyres are properly maintained and fit for winter weather.

The campaign will set out to educate drivers about the safety benefits of fitting winter tyres and encourage them to take other important safety precautions such as tread depth and pressure checks.

TyreSafe has produced a range of free tyre safety month campaign materials including posters, leaflets, web banners, an online movie and an animated safety guide.
