Belgium pledges to put road safety high on EU agenda

Belgium has launched its EU presidency with a pledge to place a high priority on road safety and to introduce legislation to counter cross border traffic offences.

Belgium will preside over the EU at an important time for road safety in Europe, which includes the new EU Road Safety Action Programme which outlines new targets and measures for 2020.

Belgium will also place legislation to follow up cross border traffic offences high on its presidency agenda.
