The Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) has issued a call for papers for its 2014 national road safety seminar which will be held in Manchester in March 2014.

The seminar will focus on the inequalities in road collisions among children and young people, in particular those from disadvantaged areas.

Kevin Lowe, head of consultancy services at CAPT, said: “We are looking for presentations covering examples of road safety initiatives that have been designed specifically to address inequalities – particularly the disproportionate rates of road accidents among children and young people in disadvantaged areas.

“The aim is showcase work from around the country and to provide a forum to discuss inequalities and road safety in relation to children, young people and their families.”

The DfT funded seminar will be aimed primarily at road safety professionals, but is also likely to be of interest a wider public health audience.

The seminar date is yet to be confirmed, but for more information contact Kevin Lowe on 0207 608 7363.
