Walk to School Week 2013 will take place 20–24 May, with organisers Living Streets once again anticipating a great turn out from schools across the UK.

Walk to School Week is designed to encourage children to walk to school throughout the year. As part of the week, resources are created to help parents, children, schools, and local authorities run events and activities, raising awareness about the benefits of walking to school.

The event demonstrates how walking is healthy, green, and fun and can help to solve problems with road safety, obesity, pollution, and congestion.

Living Streets is a charity comprising professionals and volunteers who work together to create ‘living streets’ around the UK. It has been campaigning for safe, attractive, and enjoyable streets since 1929.
