More than 250 road safety professionals will make their way to London’s Docklands area in the next 24 hours to attend the 2012 National Road Safety Conference, 14-15 November.
This is by some way the largest number ever to attend the event, which is being hosted by the Road Safety GB London Region and is co-sponsored by AA DriveTech, ALCOLOCK UK, Colas and RedSpeed International.
The conference commences at 1.30pm today (14 Nov) but is preceded by the Road Safety GB 2012 AGM.
The key issue at the AGM is the proposed merger between Road Safety GB and IRSO. A ballot has been conducted among Road Safety GB members, the result of which will be announced at the AGM. If the ballot supports the merger, it will proceed.
We will publish the outcome of the ballot and subsequent discussions on this website as soon as possible after the AGM.
We also plan to publish a series of ‘live’ reports from the conference hall over the next two days, covering some of the key presentations.
For delegates arriving today, the AGM takes place at 10.30am (coffee from 10.00am). Registration for the conference is from 12.00pm, with a rolling buffet lunch from 12.15pm. The exhibition, which comprises 26 stands and runs alongside the conference, will also open at 12.15pm.
The conference venue is the Britannia International Hotel on Marsh Wall. The nearest DLR stations are South Quays and Canary Wharf. Click here for directions to find the hotel.
