A campaign to cut the number of motorcyclists killed or injured has being launched by the newly formed Gloucestershire Road Safety Partnership.
Signs warning motorists to look out for motorcycles, and reminding bikers to take more care will, are being put up along key routes across the county – areas where motorbike crashes often occur.
Think bike! stickers will also be given out for motorists to display in the rear window of their vehicles.
The campaign is being supported by Jackie and Mike Green, whose son Ben was killed in a collision in November 2007, aged 26 years.
Jackie said: " My family is still very much struggling to cope with the loss of Ben. Road death by any means is tragic and the shock from the suddenness is shattering. Anything which raises awareness of the presence of motorbikes has to be a good thing."
The Gloucestershire Road Safety Partnership is also offering bikers the chance to brush up on their riding skills through the Roadcraft course.
Working with Gloucestershire Constabulary, two-day better biking courses will be running throughout the summer.
The course is specifically for those riders who have already passed their riding test and want to improve their riding standards.
