Pupils from 16 schools participated in a junior road safety officer conference held recently in Newport, South Wales.

The event was supported by the Welsh Assembly Government and the five participating local authorities.

Anna Smith, JRSO coordinator, said: “I was privileged to be able to provide an informative and fun day for the junior road safety officers.

“They have worked hard all year improving road safety within their school and local community and deserved a great day out at a special location.”

Kyle Coles, a Torfaen pupil, said: ‘It was a really great day. I had the beer goggles on and could see two of everything!’
