Kids go nuts over safety

Pupils in Middlesbrough are ‘going nuts’ for road safety as a result of a new campaign mascot, ‘Safety Squirrel’.

All reception year pupils have been given a pack including an activity book and advice for parents on how to make sure their child develops good road sense.

The campaign was launched at Rosewood Primary School in Coulby Newham. Headteacher Lesley Sinclair said: "We have a particular problem around our school with parked cars and speeding cars and we’re very anxious that the children are aware of everything they need to do to keep themselves safe."
