The number of people subscribing to the Road Safety Knowledge Centre (Knowledge Centre) has now passed the 2,000 mark.

The Knowledge Centre is a comprehensive online directory of road safety information and resources. It is owned and managed by Road Safety GB and is supported by Colas.

Access to the Knowledge Centre is free of charge and open to all. Membership is intended for organisations professionally involved in road safety and likely to be producing information suitable for inclusion in the Knowledge Centre.

There are currently (8/08/11) 2,010 subscribers, 358 member organisations, and 1,158 items of information in the Knowledge Centre.

In July 2011 the Knowledge Centre received 1,228 visits by 566 unique visitors, who recorded a total of 5,340 page views.

Other significant developments for the Knowledge Centre include the formation of a ‘scrutiny panel’ in May 2011, which oversees the content and applications from organisations wishing to become members; and in March 2011 Road Safety GB announced that Colas has agreed to sponsor the Knowledge Centre. The sponsorship arrangement covers all of the Knowledge Centre’s running costs for a 12-month period, which commenced 1/4/11.
