The Ministry of Defence is to install GreenRoad Technologies’ driver behaviour system in 4,578 vehicles for the next three years in a bid to reduce collisions and fatalities among employees (RoadSafe News).
The contract follows a pilot in 2008 in which MoD vehicles using GreenRoad’s automated driver coaching service realised a 31% reduction in the number of high-risk driving manoeuvres.
Aidan Rowsome, general manager, GreenRoad EMEA, said: “This announcement follows our recent partnership with FirstGroup to deploy GreenRoad’s service across its fleet of 9,000 UK buses.
“First and the MoD are trailblazers in the commercial and public sectors and demonstrate that GreenRoad’s service saves lives and makes environmental and business sense.”
