The Road Safety GB Academy has unveiled new dates and venues for its Road Safety Foundation Course, including several which are free to attend thanks to funding provided by TfL.
The Road Safety Practitioner Foundation Course delivers the basic skills, knowledge, and understanding required to deliver a road safety intervention.
The course provides participants with an overview of the whole process from identifying a road safety issue, to developing an intervention and through to evaluation.
The course comprises four days of tailored face-to-face learning delivered in two, two-day sessions. Between these sessions participants are required to complete an assignment relating to the topic covered in the initial session. A final assignment, which forms the final assessment, has to be completed four weeks after the second session.
There are now courses scheduled for Scotland (April/May), the north west of England (Sept/Oct) – and six dates in London between now and the end of 2014.
The cost of the course is £350 plus VAT for Academy members, and £500 plus VAT for others – but the London courses are free to attend for people employed by a London Borough, thanks to funding provided by TfL.
