Prince Michael Awards – deadline looms

12.00 | 23 July 2014 |

Road safety teams and other stakeholders are reminded that the closing date for nominations for the 2014 Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards is Monday 4 August.

Launched in 1987 and managed by RoadSafe, the Prince Michael Awards recognise achievements and innovations to improve road safety. Each year, outstanding international road safety initiatives are given public recognition through the scheme.

The Awards are presented at road safety events across the country and the winners are also invited to a ceremony in London where the Prince announces his Premier Award for that year.

The Premier Award for 2013 was presented to the THINK! team for its contribution over a 30-year period to reducing drink drive casualties (see pic below).

While nominations for the 2014 Awards are requested ideally by 4 August, an extension to this deadline can be requested by contacting Judy Walsh.
