The biannual FirstCar magazine is to be replaced with a new annual publication, the FirstCar Young Driver’s Guide, which is being launched on 15 March.
Orders are now being taken for this new publication which features many changes from its predecessor.
The new Guide will include sections on news, learning, buying, owning, driving and riding, as well as celebrity interviews. At 148 pages, it is significantly more substantial than FirstCar Magazine.
James Evans, Firstcar publisher, says: “Following consultations with readers and road safety professionals, we quickly realised that a more comprehensive ‘annual’ style publication would be a good evolution of the biannual magazine.
"The new A5 format looks great and easily fits into a car glovebox, so it can be quickly referred to in the event of a crash, breakdown, flat tyre etc. It also takes up less storage space and is cheaper to post.
“We’re significantly increased the paper weight and introduced perfect binding to give it a high-quality ‘bookazine’ feel.
"While the unit price is more than the biannual FirstCar Magazine – road safety teams can order in bulk for £1 per copy – the Young Driver’s Guide is more than three times the size, superior quality, and published half as frequently.
“We’ve put a lot of hard work and planning into re-engineering the format, so hopefully the FirstCar Young Driver’s Guide will be every bit as successful as FirstCar magazine."
