PACTS has released more details about its autumn conference which is titled “Driverless vehicles: from technology to policy”.
The conference will bring together vehicle technology experts and policy makers to explore how new technologies can best be exploited to reduce crashes, achieve casualty reductions and improve safety for road users.
The conference will be chaired by professor Pete Thomas from Loughborough University and confirmed participants include: Peter Shaw (Thatcham Research), Scott Pendry (Association of British Insurers), Ian Yarnold (DfT) and Dr Samantha Jamson (Leeds University).
Delegates will have the opportunity to view new technologies and hear from, and question, experts. The conference is intended to be timely for the Government’s review of regulations for testing driverless cars and the Transport Select Committee’s ‘Motoring of the future’ inquiry.
The conference will be held at the premises of Thatcham Research in Berkshire on 22 October. For more details or to register to attend, visit the PACTS website or contact Joanne Mackel on 020 7222 7732.
This little article from the MIT technology review might throw a little light on the subject.
