Which? to publish latest child car seats results

Which? consumer magazine will today (18 June) release its latest results for child car seats, to coincide with the start of Child Safety Week 2012 (18 – 24 June).

Julie Dagnall, Road Safety GB’s ‘in car safety specialist’ and co-founder of Child Seat Safety, said: “We have been working closely with Which? during the last year to ensure that the information provided to consumers is correct and appropriate for their individual needs.

“The release of the ‘Best Buys and Don’t Buys’ is always an important event and this year is no exception, as further details from Which’s? mystery shopping are also included, with some interesting results.”

Which? produced a retailers charter in October 2011 and has been encouraging national retailers and the Independent Traders Association to sign up to it. The magazine is also recommending that retailers ensure their employees are qualified in the IOSH Child Seat Safety Awareness course, run by Child Seat Safety, as it goes much further than product training offered by manufacturers.

David Evans, senior researcher for Which? consumer magazine, said: “This is an ideal course for retail staff, advising customers, and for road safety professionals, and for police and fire officers who advise consumers.”
