‘Working together’ theme for Child Safety Week

Uniting people who work with children and families to keep children safer is the aim of the Child Accident Prevention Trust’s (CAPT) Child Safety Week 2009 (22 – 28 June 2009).

CAPT says that every year two million children and young people are harmed in accidents – many of which can be prevented. This is why CAPT is offering free Child Safety Week resource packs to all those working with children, young people and families.

Katrina Phillips, chief executive, said: “Child Safety Week is a great platform for organising community activities and events – and working with other local agencies, so that families understand that child accident prevention is everyone’s business.”

To obtain a copy of the Child Safety Week resource pack practitioners can join CAPT’s mailing list at: www.capt.org.uk.
