Dozens enroll on impairment e-learning course

Dozens of road safety practitioners have enrolled on a new online e-learning course that deals with impairment by alcohol and drugs.

The Impairment E-learning Course, developed by the Road Safety GB Academy, provides road safety practitioners with an increased knowledge and awareness of how alcohol, cannabis and cocaine impact on road user behaviour – together with the legal implications of using such substances in the road safety context.

The course has been developed based on feedback received from practitioners who have attended other Road Safety GB Academy courses and consists of three, 30-minute e-learning modules.

The highly interactive modules, which participants can complete in their own time, will provide practitioners with an increased understanding of:

  • How these particular drugs impact on road user behaviour
  • Why the drugs have these effects
  • The legalities around alcohol and drugs
  • Possible countermeasures

The cost to access the full online course is £37 (plus VAT) for Academy members and £45 (plus VAT) for non members.

On completion, the practitioner will need to successfully complete a short assessment to receive the Road Safety GB certificate.
