A new drink drive campaign in Northern Ireland features ordinary people warning motorists that ‘every drink increases your chances of crashing’.
At the launch of the ‘Hit Home’ campaign, Edwin Poots, Northern Ireland’s new environment minister, warned motorists who take an alcoholic drink that they could end up paying with their lives.
The TV element of the campaign will run 1 July to 31 August and will be supported by radio, press and washroom activity.
In April the DOE launched a consultation seeking views on issues including reducing the drink drive limit to 50 milligrammes and introducing a lower limit of 20 milligrammes for novice and professional drivers.
