The programme for the 2015 National Road Safety Conference* is complete with the final few speakers now confirmed – and the event looks set to attract a record attendance again this year.
More than 260 attendees have already been confirmed for the conference which takes place in Nottingham on 18-19 November. The final number looks certain to exceed last year’s record of 270 attendees, with the organisers saying the final total could get close to 300.
In total, the main and fringe programmes feature 40 speakers covering a wide range of topics.
Recent additions to the programme include presentations from Highways England and TyreSafe.
Richard Leonard, group manager: safer roads, and Stuart Lovatt, safety action plan coordinator, both from Highways England, will present in the opening session, ‘The Big Picture’. Their joint presentation will outline the development of the new road safety strategy that underpins the aims and objectives in Highways England’s newly launched health and safety five year plan.
Stuart Jackson, chair of Tyresafe, will present in the fringe programme which runs alongside the main conference agenda. He will outline how Tyre Safety Month has created a powerful platform that enables road safety professionals to adopt and adapt its core messages, work with its industry members and deliver a positive effect at local level.
The two day conference will get underway with a presentation, via video link, from road safety minister Andrew Jones. The second day will feature a Question Time session, with the panellists including Olympic champion and president of the London Road Safety Council, James Cracknell.
There are just a handful of residential delegate places left, but plenty of capacity for day delegates on both days.
