DriveFit 2.0 builds on the original intervention while redesigning it for easier delivery within schools and colleges. Selected content from the original film has been incorporated into three structured, teacher-led lessons, supported by teacher guidance and active learning activities.

The three lessons cover:

- Driving practice and hazard prediction
- Vehicle safety and managing distractions
- Managing fatigue and speed

The revised approach is designed to fit within PSHE or curriculum enrichment, removing the need for an external facilitator and making the intervention more practical to deliver at scale. It takes a strengths-based approach, focusing on developing skills, judgement and practical strategies rather than relying on shock or fear-based messaging.

DriveFit 2.0 was evaluated in partnership with Surrey Fire and Rescue Service across four post-16 settings in Surrey. The evaluation found that the programme was feasible and acceptable for teacher-led delivery, with a modest but statistically significant improvement in perceived risk among intervention students.
