With two weeks until the 2019 National Road Safety Conference, a final call for delegates has been issued.
Organised by Road Safety GB and co-sponsored by Insure the Box, Jenoptik and DENSO, the 11th running of the National Conference takes place at Telford International Centre on 12-13 November.
More than 300 people have registered to attend – and organisers are encouraging anyone still thinking of attending to book by the end of this week.
The 2019 conference will follow a similar format to previous years, with both a main and fringe programme running concurrently. Topics covered on the main agenda include grass roots road safety, behavioural change and 20mph limits.
Speed dating – which comprises a series of five minute presentations from road safety practitioners – returns for a second year, as does Question Time, a feature of National Conference for several years.
There are also a number of new initiatives – including an informal chat show style session on the closing afternoon, with:
- Edmund King OBE, president, AA
- Lembit Opik, director of communications and public affairs, Motorcycle Action Group (MAG)
- Sally Lines OBE, chief executive, Road Safety Trust
On the final afternoon, delegates will also have the option to attend one of a series of workshops which will run in tandem with the main conference programme.
In addition, 25 organisations have signed up to participate in the exhibition which runs alongside the conference.
