The RSGB Academy has published its calendar of professional development courses for the remainder of 2026, offering road safety practitioners a wide range of opportunities to build their knowledge and develop new skills.
The full programme includes established courses covering behavioural change, statistics, older road users and Safe System principles, alongside the introduction of two significant new additions to the Academy’s portfolio.
The first is the new Road Safety Delivery in an Educational Setting course, which has been developed to support practitioners delivering road safety education within schools and other learning environments.
The course explores how children and young people develop, and how this influences their understanding of risk and decision-making. Participants will learn how to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate road safety sessions, apply effective teaching strategies and resources, and manage groups safely during practical activities.
The Academy has also launched its new Road Safety Practitioner Foundation Refresher Course, providing experienced practitioners with the opportunity to update their knowledge in response to the rapidly evolving road safety profession.
Designed for anyone who completed their original Road Safety Practitioner Foundation Course more than three years ago, the one-day refresher covers key developments including the Department for Transport’s Road Safety Strategy, the Safe System approach, behavioural science, data-led practice and continuing professional development. The course also supports practitioners working towards the Road Safety GB professional awards.
The wider programme includes courses on behavioural change, statistics, older road users, evaluation and the Road Safety Practitioner Foundation Course, ensuring there are learning opportunities for practitioners at every stage of their careers. All courses are delivered online via Zoom, making them accessible to delegates from across the UK.
The full calendar includes courses running from July through to the end of 2026, with places now available to book.
