Westcotec has received an award from the Institute of Master Tutors of Driving (IMTD) in recognition of its contribution to road safety.
The Norfolk-based manufacturer of intelligent traffic safety systems received the IMTD Award for Road Safety Contribution and Partnership, recognising its use of data-led technology to encourage safer driver behaviour and support road safety initiatives across the UK.
The award was presented by IMTD president Graham Feest and accepted on behalf of Westcotec by managing director Chris Spinks.
The IMTD citation highlighted Westcotec’s work developing intelligent road safety solutions designed to provide practical benefits for road users, local authorities and communities.
The company’s technology uses information to alert drivers to potential hazards and support safer decision-making, while also helping authorities identify where targeted interventions may be required.
Westcotec said its approach combines technology, data and an understanding of driver behaviour to address local road safety challenges.
