Leicestershire County Council has secured grants of more than £300,000 to promote sustainable travel to schools. 16 schools are benefiting from schemes to improve walking and cycling facilities.
The grants have been awarded by sustainable transport charity Sustrans, on behalf of Cycling England, to support changing how children travel to school. The money is helping to support the introduction of crossings, speed reduction measures, cycle tracks and cycle parking being jointly funded by Leicestershire County Council.
