Date change for Brainbox road safety conference

12.00 | 4 February 2014 |

A road safety conference being organised by Brainbox Research has been switched from March to September 2014.

The conference, Innovations in Road User Behaviour Change, will now take place on 25-26 September 2014. Brainbox Research is subsidising the delegate fee to enable those working in academia and the public sector to attend.

Dr Fiona Fylan from Brainbox Research said: “Our conference aims to generate new perspectives on road-user behaviour through sharing knowledge from areas of research hitherto unexplored in the road-safety community. It will be a bridge between behavioural theory and practice that is intellectually robust yet highly accessible.

“Our delegates will benefit professionally by hearing about new ideas, discussing them and developing the understanding and confidence to put them into practice.”

Speakers at the conference will include: Professor Wandi Bruine de Bruin from the University of Leeds; Anna Sallis from Public Health England Behavioural Insights Team; Honor Byford, chair of Road Safety GB; Dr Shaun Helman from the Transport Research Laboratory; and Professor Brendan Gough from Leeds Metropolitan University.

Innovations in Road User Behaviour Change will take place on 25-26 September at the Cedar Court Hotel in Wakefield, Yorkshire. The delegate fee is £75 and overnight accommodation at the hotel starts at £65.
