Suffolk County Council is holding an informal seminar for road safety professionals to share information about its DfT funded older driver project, ‘GrandDriver’.

While the full agenda has yet to be finalised, Michelle Haward, project manager, will explain how the scheme evolved and lessons learnt during the process.

Dr Julie Gandolfi from Cranfield University will present a review of older driver research, including the Older Driver Risk Index (psychometric profiling).

Michelle Haward said: “The seminar is for local authorities and organisations with an interest in older driver related issues, who may already have initiatives in place or who are planning to introduce an initiative in the future.”

The seminar will take place in Needham Market, near Ipswich on 19 March, 10.00am to 3.00pm, with lunch and refreshments provided.

Anyone wishing to attend or requiring further information should contact Michelle Haward.
