The Shiny Side Up Partnership (SSUP) is continuing its ‘deep dive’ evaluation of the Know the Dangers resource, and as part of the exercise is seeking the views of road safety professionals.
‘Know the Dangers’ comprises a series of short films and infographics designed to increase driver and rider awareness of the most common causes of motorcycle collisions, with the aim of preventing future crashes.
The films were shared on social media, supported by paid advertising, and reached a significant audience – with more than 600,000 views recorded.
With funding provided the Road Safety Trust, the SSUP is working with Agilysis to find out who used the films, how they were used and to what effect.
Agilysis will analyse social media and website data, as well as gathering the views of drivers, riders, key stakeholders and the wider road safety community through a short online survey, which is open until 16 September.
Heidi Duffy MBE, SSUP facilitator, said: “It was great to achieve the huge number of views on social media and see the film and resources downloaded from the SSUP website many times, but this deep dive evaluation will show how the resources are being actually used and by whom.
“Insights into the hopefully successful use of various social media approaches can be used to provide a guide for other road safety practitioners going forward.”
