Sussex partnership organises Older Drivers’ Week

11.01 | 28 February 2012 |

The Sussex Safer Roads Partnership (SSRP) has organised an Older Drivers Awareness Week to focus on working with this age group and their families and friends.

There will be Older Driver Week events in Torbay and Hampshire as well as Sussex, and the SSRP hopes to grow it into an annual national event.

Starting on 19 March, the week will aim to help older drivers retain an active life and provide them with the confidence to ensure travelling doesn’t become a barrier leading to isolation.

SSRP has published a guide for concerned family and friends, an advice note for GPs, and a leaflet for older drivers which provides them with information and the offer of an hour on the road with an ADI.

For more information visit the SSRP website, or contact Steve Whitehead on 0845 60 70 999 (ext. 82283).
