While more than half of the training courses organised by the Road Safety GB Academy in the coming months are fully subscribed, there are still places available on four courses.
Established in 2013, The Academy organises a wide range of courses covering issues including behavioural change techniques, media training, evaluation, social media and delivering road safety in a primary school setting.
Of the 11 Academy courses scheduled for delivery in the UK between now and the end of April, seven are already fully booked.
The four courses where there is still availability are:
- A two-day Road Safety Evaluation course being held in Banbury, Oxfordshire, on 13-14 March. The course covers a wide range of topics including reasons for evaluation, E-Valu-It, ‘before and after’ studies, and how to plan and pilot an evaluation.
- A two-day Behavioural Change Course in Cambridgeshire on 11-12 April. The course covers: understanding road user behaviour; behavioural models; behavioural change techniques; behavioural insights; mapping behaviours; and developing interventions using behavioural models and change techniques.
- The Road Safety Delivery in a Primary School Setting course is bing delivered in Lewisham, south London on 17 April. The course is designed to develop a road safety practitioner’s skills to deliver an effective and engaging road safety intervention to primary school children.
- A two-day Road Safety Data Course is taking place in Banbury on 24-25 April. The course covers a range of topics and includes hands-on assignments working with road safety data.
In addition to the UK schedule, the Academy will host its second international course in April.
The two-day Behavioural Change – Applied Human Factors Course (4-5 April) is being delivered in Amman in Jordan, in partnership with the German Jordanian University.
The course is described as ‘essential learning’ for students undertaking civil highway engineering, urban planning training and other road safety-related related education and training courses.
