The Child Accident Prevention Trust is encouraging road safety teams to sign up for Child Safety Week and use the event as an opportunity to engage with children and parents about the importance of road safety.
Child Safety Week 2018 takes place between 4-10 June and is running with the tagline ‘Safe Children – together we’ve got this!’.
CAPT says the theme provides a great opportunity to establish or continue partnership working – offering an opportunity to pool budgets and resources to reach more parents, carers and children.
82% of respondents to the 2017 Child Safety Week evaluation survey said they held activities in partnership with other organisations; while 98% said their joint working would continue beyond the event.
Child Safety Week is run by CAPT to raise awareness of the risks of child accidents and how they can be prevented.
CAPT has published a range of resources to help practitioners run local activities and events and promote safety messages in a fun and engaging way.
Road safety teams wanting to participate in Child Safety Week can sign up to receive the free resources via the Child Safety Week website.
